My mom stopped by this evening and was so excited about the new bag she bought.  Boy was I surprised when she set the pictured bag down on my table and not a new purse like usual.  As a single woman she says that she feels much more prepared for a safe roadside emergency.  Who could blame her?!  At first I thought she was silly for needing such a thing.  But once I took a look at all the items this kit included I started to want one! 
It comes with an Air Compressor, Jumper Cables, a Tie Down Strap, Duct Tape, Screwdriver, Utility Knife, Headlamp, Window Mount Triangle, Fabric Blanket, Gloves, Poncho, Batteries and a First Aid Kit.  Essentially everything you would need in a minor emergency break down.  
I felt that this cool bag of auto emergency goodies needed to be shared with our wonderful clients!

Still trying to decide what your resolution is going to be for 2015?  People often neglect getting maintenance performed on their vehicles and instead tend to bring their vehicles in only when repairs are needed.  Make this year's resolution about your vehicle!!  Resolve to keep up on your vehicles maintenance to ensure the most efficient performance and increase it's longevity.  Here are some tips to help with maintenance on your vehicle for 2015:

1. Wash and wax: Regular washing and waxing preserves paint and prevents rust.
   
2. Research recalls:  Recalls and technical service bulletins are sometimes issued by manufacturers, but don't always make the evening news.  Check out the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
   
3. See the Check Engine Light:  Although the "Check Engine" light gets a bad rap for reporting trivial OBD codes, it also reports important warnings.  We perform Free Code Scans so you stay informed on what's going on with your vehicle.
   
4. Play Nice:  It's obvious that driving your vehicle at redline all the time will lessen it's lifespan, but what you may not know is that extended idling can promote carbon buildup and catalytic converter deterioration.
   
5. Follow Maintenance Recommendations:  Following the maintenance schedule recommendations in your owner's manual will extend your vehicle's life and save you money in the long run!
   
6. Know Your Stats:  You can't just turn your key and drive, and you can't just come to the shop everyday for maintenance.  Keep tabs on fluid levels, tire pressure, and gas mileage.  
   
7. Ask For Help:  When in doubt ask for assistance.  If your vehicle acts up between maintenance intervals and the Check Engine light isn't on, don't be afraid to bring the vehicle in.  We are here to help!
