Summarize your vehicle!

Wednesday is the first day of summer!  And with it comes hot days and warm nights.  Just like the very cold temperatures of winter, the warmer summer temperatures can take a toll on any vehicle.  The heat expands the air in the tires and makes the cooling system work harder.  Such high temperatures can accelerate wear on belts and hoses.  With the right precautions and preventative steps, you can minimize the toll that the summer heat has on your vehicle.

Check the tire pressure:  There will be a recommended psi either on the inside of the drivers door or in the owners manual.  With the heat expanding the air pressure in your tires, there is the potential for your tires to be over-inflated leading to excess wear or a blow out.

Check the A/C system:  If it's been a while since you have ran the air conditioning, it's a good time to do so before the temps get close to 100!  Run the a/c for a few minutes, paying close attention to the temperature and if there are any strange noises or odors.

Underhood inspection:  Pop the hood and take a look (with a cold engine).  Start by checking your battery's condition.  Making sure the terminals are free of corrosion.  Next take a look at the condition of the hoses and belts. You want to make sure they are free of cracks and that the belts are not too loose or tight.  While you're there, check the fluid levels and condition (oil, coolant, transmission, brake).

Windshield Wipers:  Although we do not expect rain over summertime here in San Diego, visibility is still very important.  With the summer temps come summer bugs...all over your windshield.  Having a full washer fluid reservoir and wiper blades in good condition is a must!

We are more than happy to take care of this checklist for you and much more!  Give us a call today to schedule your appointment 619-562-3933.
Thank you!

Very interesting topic:) Can anybody tell me how to summarize own speculation? I think most vehicle owners don't know. Well, I would like to tell that by giving the much-needed summer maintenance you can summarize your venture. Like the freezing winter, the burning heat of the dog days can be brutal on the vehicle. I think a small negligence to summer aftercare can lead to an expensive hassle. So, when the climatic temperature increases, you need to take your vehicle to a certified auto repair shop- where you can do the major inspections and the necessary repairs without getting ripped off. Honestly, I feel that systematic summer car maintenance is the best way to prepare the car for summer travel.

Vehicle could not tolerate the extreme environmental temperature without proper maintenance. So, prior to the arrival of summer season suitable steps needs to be taken to reduce the effects of extreme summer temperature on the vehicle. Coolant prevents the engine failure due to the overheating during summer season. So, the quantity and quality of different types of fluids used in the vehicle along with coolant needs to be inspected and should be replaced to fulfill the requirement.

Nicely written and very interesting post. In this blog post the author has mentioned some tips for minimizing the harmful effects of summer temperature on the vehicle. In the summer we should check the air pressure of the tire whether it matches with the recommended psi in the owner's manual. We must check out the A/C system whether it is providing cool air or not. The windshield washer fluid must be completely filled and wiper blades must remain in good condition. To perform major inspections & necessary repairs of different components we have to take our vehicle to a certified auto repair shop without hesitation. I never knew that the heat expands the air in the tires and makes the cooling system work harder. I never thought that it would be like this, it is an intriguing article to read and I will also share this with my aunt. Thank you for the information about the car air conditioning service.
