![]() There are 3 storms expected to hit San Diego in the next week. Is your vehicle ready for the wet conditions??? We have a few suggestions for you to get your vehicle rain-ready. With rain storms few and far between, the roads build up oil and when the rain finally does start pouring down this oil build up makes the roads very slippery. To help ensure that your vehicle has good traction check the tire tread. You should inspect the condition and tread depth of your tires. The tread on your tires is used to "grip" and when the tire is bald it becomes more susceptible to slipping. If the tires are "bald" it's time for new ones! If you've got plenty of tread, your next step is to check the tire pressure. Even without the rain this should be checked on a monthly basis. An over-inflated tire will become like a balloon on the wet roads and an under-inflated tire doesn't use your tread "grip" to its fullest potential. Making sure your tires are always at proper inflation will extend their life span as well, saving your money!!! Now that we've covered the part of the vehicle keeping you on the road, let's discuss the driver. As the driver of the vehicle you need to be able to see. Especially in wet weather when the roads are in a more hazardous condition to you and those around you. Just because you did your homework and checked your tires doesn't mean the vehicle next to you did. Next on our list is to check the condition and functionality of the windshield wipers (both windshield and back window if you've got it). All the sun we get here in San Diego is great, except for how it deteriorates our wiper blades. The rubber on the blade should not be stiff, cracked or ripped. If your wiper blades have these conditions they will not be able to properly whisk the rain from your windshield leaving your visibility impaired. We always have these in stock, stop by on your way out and grab a pair! Headlights and tail/brake lights are needed to make sure the OTHER drivers see YOU! Even when we are not enduring rain storms, these parts of your vehicle should be routinely checked for proper operation. Visibility during rain storms is already impaired, lets make sure the other drivers can see you! One last tip, and I'm sure it goes without saying, keep an extra safe distance between you and the vehicle in front of you. The slippery road makes braking conditions a bit less reliable. We hope your find these tips useful or at least serve as a reminder!

I am glad to know that tires should be properly inflated to get better traction on the road surface. Properly inflated tires with better tread depth could produce better grip on the slippery surface and could reduce the possibility of an accident. Apart from this, the condition of the wipers should be inspected at a regular interval and damaged wipers should be replaced with suitable substitutes to get better visibility during extreme rainy condition.

Road surface becomes slippery during the rainy season which could lead to an accident. So, it is really essential to inspect the condition of the tires prior to leaving for a destination. Tires with little or no tread depth should be replaced with suitable replacements according to the guidance of experienced technicians.

During rainy season the roads become wet and therefore slippery due to continuous raining. So the tires used in the vehicle should be of good quality. They should be properly inflated and their tread depth should be more than the average .These tires are able to produce better traction on the slippery road. So there is less chances of accidents. The tires with lower tread depth must be replaced with suitable substitutes. We should also check the condition and functionality of windshield wipers as these are used more often in the rainy season.
