![]() Monday is Labor Day already! To honor our technicians for all of their hard work throughout the year, we will be closed Saturday and Monday. We would like to thank all of the American workers for the contributions they have made to the strength, prosperity and well-being of this country. To help you save on labor, we are offering 5% off ALL labor (up to $100) from September 2-6, 2014. ![]() This Friday we celebrate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, announcing the colonies' separation from Great Britain. As our adversary in 1776, today the United Kingdom is our seventh-leading trading partner with $100 billion traded in 2013. The 4th of July is seen as the most American of holidays marked with red, white and blue flags, fireworks, bbq's, and parades across the country. Here are some fun facts:
We will be closed Friday, celebrating this glorious day with our family and friends. Regular business hours will resume on Saturday. From our family to yours, we hope you have a safe and fun holiday! ![]() Dyno tuning is a systematic approach to engine tuning. Dyno tuning allows us to give your vehicle a tune-up of unparalleled quality, providing you with the smoothest, most economical performance possible from your vehicle. To properly tune your car and program the computer for the best performance and fuel economy under all loads and driving conditions, your car needs to be on a dyno with full load control. Without a dyno the tuning can get close, assuming the technician knows what they’re doing. But nothing makes engine tuning more precise than a full load dyno machine, like we use at The Dyno Shop. For each RPM range our dyno can put various loads on your car to simulate all conditions on the road or on the track. With the assistance of the Dyno we are able to simulate different driving/load conditions, diagnose drivability issues “in the shop” (while using other diagnostic equipment, i.e. scanner, scopes, gauges and meters), check horsepower, torque, and air/fuel ratio. Whether it be vintage autos from the turn of the century, muscle cars of the 60’s and 70’s or the latest electronic fuel injected vehicles, we can improve your driving experience. Custom Programming: We understand that not every vehicle is identical and that some vehicles with certain modifications require special attention. Custom chipping is the answer. The art of finding the “sweet spot” of every condition, (fine tuning) any engine from stock, mild to extremely wild. The Dyno Shop is here for you! With over 30 years of dyno tuning experience you will enjoy the best possible running engine, while enjoying the highest fuel mileage possible. The way we see it here at The Dyno Shop is quite simple, “We’re committed to bringing out the best in your car, truck, or RV. We will help you to reach your vehicle’s potential and more!” Get $30 off your dyno tune with the mention of this blog post!!! Hurry and schedule your appointment today, this offer ends 6/14/14 In observance of Memorial Day, we will be closed this coming Monday. We would like to take this time to honor those who have died in the line of duty while protecting our Country. For those who have lost someone, we are deeply sorry for your loss and hope that you smile on this day remembering your loved one and all that they stood for.
Some facts about Memorial Day: Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day and originated in the years following the Civil War. It became an official federal holiday in 1971. The first Decoration Day was celebrate don May 30, 1868 and was chosen because it wasn't the anniversary of any particular battle. It is unclear exactly where the tradition originated, but the federal government declared Waterloo, New York the official birthplace of Memorial Day. We hope that you have a safe and fun holiday. Tell Derek or Rob that you read our Blog and receive $10 Off your next repair or service, good until 5/31/14 As I sit here with only a few days left until Mother's Day I am finding it hard to think of something great that I can give to my Mom. I could always go with the usual; Gift Cards, Jewelry, Pictures, etc... Just stuff. As a mom myself now I find that quality time with my family is all I really want (that and maybe to sleep in just one day since my kids are little still)! Gifts that keep on giving and gifts that give piece of mind are great too. Many mom's like to garden, so plants or statues for the garden are good.
If you want to give your mom piece of mind when it comes to taking care of her vehicle we offer a Car Care Club Card which will save your mom or wife/significant other money on vehicle maintenance over the year. This card has 4 free oil changes which basically pays for itself at just $120 for the card (that's only $30 per oil change). Let alone all the discounts on other services that vehicles need throughout the year. My mom will of course be getting one of these plus a lunch date on Sunday! This offer is only good until Saturday May 10th, so stop by today! Tomorrow marks the 34th year of celebrating Earth Day. Events will be held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. As the urban population grows and the effects of climate change worsen, our cities have to evolve. As we celebrate the transition to renewable energy and forest conservation, think about how you can contribute. One way that we here at The Dyno Shop are trying to help save the Earth is by transitioning our monthly newsletter from paper to electronic. Did you know that by having your vehicle's regular maintenance performed helps the environment?! Have you been ignoring that pesky check engine light? Your vehicle's check engine light may be indicating that your vehicle is not running at peak efficiency; your fuel injection or emission control system may not be functioning properly. This in turn costs you fuel mileage and may raise the emission level out of your tail pipe; which of course is not very Earth friendly. Tell the guys that you read this blog and receive $20 Off any diagnostics performed to help your vehicle and the Earth. Hurry, this offer ends 4/26/14!
![]() Spring is in the air! With the first day of spring behind us, it's time to start your spring cleaning. If you are anything like me, I get a pep in my step to get the house in order and do some DEEP cleaning! Most of us forget about our vehicles though, which also need some "deep" cleaning a few times a year too. This doesn't always mean expensive work performed, but can be just preventative inspections and oil changes. We at The Dyno Shop know that you are busy, so we want to help check something off your Spring Cleaning To-Do List. Our Essential Spring Maintenance Service will put your mind at ease. We will perform our thorough 55-point inspection and a lube, oil and filter change. Save 15% when you mention this blog to our service advisers by March 31, 2014. Daylight savings time snuck up on me this year! This Sunday we will turn our clocks forward an hour. Are you ready? I'm ready for longer daylight hours and warmer weather! It will be nice to drive home from work with the sun still shining. So why do we observe DST? Well many countries use DST to make better use of the daylight in the evenings and could be linked to fewer road accidents and injuries. The extra hour is said to give children more social time and can boost tourism. The daylight savings time is also used to save energy and reduce artificial lighting. What do you think?
Tell Derek or Robbie that you read our blog to receive $5.00 off any repair or service through next Friday, 3/14/14. The weatherman says rain is on the way. With our lack of rainfall this season, the upcoming rain can pose some problems. As we all know many, many accidents happen during the first rain after a long dry period. Roads will be slick and drivers will be on crazy alert.
Help yourself avoid an accident. First, make sure you can see. Check the condition of your wiper blades or just replace them with new inserts and make sure your washer fluid is full. Next, check your tire pressure and condition. You want to make sure you have a good amount of tread on the tires for proper traction. If your tires are under inflated the tire footprint will be uneven and hydroplaning is more likely to happen. We are here to help! Bring your vehicle in before the rain starts and we can do a full inspection to catch any potential problems (if any!) before you are stuck on the side of the road in the rain. Tell Derek or Rob about this blog post and receive $20 Off your 55-pt vehicle inspection! |
