![]() October is officially here and with it bring National Car Care Month! Two months out of the year are dedicated to bring attention to the importance of car care and preventative maintenance. In conjunction with the Car Care Council and the ASE we've put together a list of "to-do's" for you or your trusty mechanic (aka The Dyno Shop!) to complete while the weather is mild. In our previous blog post we touched on few areas of your vehicle that should be inspected for proper condition. We listed tire condition, wipers & washer fluid, and antifreeze. Below is the rest of the list that we find very important to give attention to: Inspection of Hoses & Belts: Make sure that they are not cracked, loose, frayed, brittle, or showing signs of excessive wear. Inspect ALL Fluids: In addition to the condition of antifreeze, the oil, power steering, brake and transmission fluids should all be checked for level and condition. Inspect Exhaust System: Visually look for any leaks, damaged or broken supports or hangers. Exhaust leaks are bit trickier to detect, but that's why you have us! These can be dangerous and should be addressed immediately. Check the Battery: Ensure that the connections are clean, tight and corrosion free. Check the date to make sure it's not expired. Brake System Inspection: This should be done annually. So if you didn't have it done in April, now is the time. Inspect the Steering and Suspension System: This includes shock absorbers, struts, ball joints, tie rod ends and other related components. Check the HVAC system: This is the heating, ventilating and air conditioning system. Proper heating and cooling performance is critical for interior comfort and safety (hello foggy window!). Engine Performance Inspection: We want your vehicle to be performing at it's best. This includes having the proper balance between power and fuel economy. Many of these you will be able to do at home. The Dyno Shop is here for the rest (or all!). Give us a call if you would like our trained technicians to inspect 1 or all of the checklist above!

Every operative should understand the significance of preventive car aftercare during the fall spell in order to get their speed machine prepared for Jack Frost. A trouble-free ride all along the fall season necessitates more than just cautious driving etiquette. Since inclement weather requires good stopping power so, you have to inspect the brakes and tires. Make sure the headlight, taillight, and emergency flasher- are in good working order. Under-hood inspection and engine oil replacement- are two obligatory car care assignments that have to be carried out under a trained technician's supervision.

Fall car care month in October is the ideal time to give our car some extra attention before the harsh winter weather sets in. We should up-to-date our car with all maintenance and repair items. The author has provided here with some of the maintenance tips during the fall season. We should inspect the hoses and belts. We must inspect the level and condition of all the essential fluids including engine oil. These fluids should be replaced if necessary. We must also inspect the brakes and tires as good stopping power is required during this season.

You make a great point about checking the ventilation first. I need to get a mechanic to check my AC system. I think something is broken.

My younger brother bought his first car a few months ago, but I don't think he has taken it to a professional mechanic ever since. That's why I believe he must read your insight about inspecting your car's fluids to make sure they're at the right level, so I'll email this to him right now. I appreciate your information on car care and how to stay on top of your car's maintenance needs.

Great work!! Your blog is very informative for all visitors. National Car Care Month is an important time for motorists to be mindful of the importance of routine preventive maintenance and repairs for optimum vehicular performance. During this month, it is prudent to inspect the car's fluid levels, battery, tires and brake system as well as check the air filter, spark plugs and other engine components.
